on goals and intentions

blogger keeps proving me you don´t have to have the same interests with people to be interested in reading their stories.

last week a bunch of us revived or created our blogs, I'm sure less than handful will keep going, and i understand the troubles that come with trying to blog on a new platform consistently (lifestyle, time, school work, the archaic blogger interface) even i wanted to update a couple of times this week and couldn´t. but regardless I´m having fun reading everyone´s entries and leaving little notes on them!

Now onto today´s topic, I'm still 100% on board with talking to myself here and archive what I find interest about my life/days to whoever wants to keep reading (but mostly for myself).

today i just wanted to talk about "new resolutions". the last time I did a goals or resolutions list was way back in my teens. I´m not really fond of setting goals and milestones I know will feel like a shore or something I have to do, just because I made a list. so I don´t make them.

instead I make vision boards.

I´ve been doing them for almost 10 years now, and basically I just find a bunch of pictures on the internet that represent what I want for me on the upcoming year. Not all of them, just the key stuff I want to try or focus on. I usually print it and paste it on the first page of my bound journal so I always get a glance to it when I feel lost or that I have no purpose (which happens a lot). It´s  great reminder that I do want to achieve something.

and I never go for the loose 20 kilos! get a house! get that dream job! kind of goals. mine are simple, mundane, doable.

this 2026 for me, I want to focus on getting healthier hair, getting my drivers license, eating hearthy food, read lots, blog every time I can, go to a solo cafe date once a month, run most days of the week, get my nails done more than not, work towards that bookstore-cafe vibe I want for my business. and a very personal project: practice ikebana!

simple. doable. fulfilling activities that spike my igikai.

hope this inspire you of not setting huge goals (or do who am i to tell you not) but if anything, not to pressure yourself to pressure yourself on doing things just because we all have to be constantly achieving something.
